Our Instructor

Stephen Bay

Certified instructor Stephen Bay has been teaching Tai Chi Ch’uan since 2002.

He first began to practice martial arts in 1983 and took up Tai Chi after a Taekwondo injury left him in need of physical therapy. As part of his rehabilitation, Stephen enrolled in a Tai Chi class taught by Master Wang Zhentian at Wushulink.

After just several weeks of Tai Chi practice, Stephen’s balance and range of motion had improved so much that it surprised his physical therapist.

Stephen continued training and earned certificates in the 24 and 48 Forms from Wushulink. He also learned the 42 Form Tai Chi Sword.

To dive deeper into Tai Chi and to learn the martial art applications of these forms, Stephen then trained under Sifu Harvey Kurland, a direct disciple of the late Grandmaster Tchoung Ta-Tchen, and was certified in the Dual Symmetrical Yang Style by Sifu Kurland and the Northwest Tai Chi Ch’uan Association (NWTCCA).
